A Family is a Family

At Adoption SF, we are proud of the fact that nearly half of the families we work with are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) families. LGBT families are an invaluable resource for the many children and youth in foster care awaiting an adoptive family.  

Some of the children are themselves LGBTQ+ — lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning. They need families who will provide safe and stable care in an accepting family environment.

Adoption SF is committed to serving all families equally with dignity and respect, including LGBT couples and single parents.

• Adoption SF has been on the leading edge of advocating for public policy and practice changes in the adoption field to provide the opportunity for LGBT families to adopt.
• Family Builders has developed an LGBT adoption training curriculum and has provided training locally and nationally to adoption professionals.
